A donor-advised fund, called a Giving Account at Fidelity Charitable, is like a charitable investment account with the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. It’s a simple, flexible and tax-efficient way to give to your favorite charities.

How does it work?

When you donate to your Giving Account, you’re making a tax-deductible donation to Fidelity Charitable.

But because your account is a donor-advised fund, you advise us on how to grant the money out to your favorite charities.

Your donation is also invested based on your preferences, so it has the potential to grow, tax-free, while you’re deciding which charities to support.

How do I open a Giving Account?

It only takes five minutes to open a Giving Account. You are not required to contribute funds upon opening the account, and there is no minimum balance to maintain.  Here is the information you’ll need to provide:

  • Account holder SSN
  • Contact information

3. Confirm
